Title:
SPECTACLE LENS FOR PRESBYOPIA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0862497
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce uncomfortable feeling of a spectacled person by forming a first surface into a spherical surface and a second surface into an aspherical surface which satisfies a specific conditioning expression so as to correct aberrations such as astigmatism and distortion aberration and to thin the thickness of the lens.

CONSTITUTION: A lens surface on the objective side is formed into a spherical surface, and a lens surface on the eye side is formed into an aspherical surface which satisfies a specific conditioning expression, wherein X is the length of a perpendicular extended downward from a point on the aspherical surface separated from the optical axis by a distance (h), to a contact plane surface at the apex of the aspherical surface, (r) is a radius of curvature of a spherical surface serving as a reference, and K, A4, A6 are aspherical coefficients. That is, the first surface is spherical but the second surface is aspherical, and in particular, K is set within a rang of 4, 76×10-7×r3<K<(r2/1225)-1 so as to increase the thickness of the lens in order to correct astigmatism and distortion aberration. However, if K becomes excessively large, the thickness of the peripheral edge part of the lens becomes abruptly large, and accordingly, it is not preferable in external appearance. Further, the aberration is deteriorated in the peripheral edge part of the lens. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent K from exceeding the upper limit given by the conditioning expression.
