To provide a spectacle lens which can be prevented from being scratched due to point contact therewith of a small object.
In a spectacle lens L having a surface film and a substrate, a tip bulge start load (WI) obtained by a method including steps (A) and (B) is 60 g or more. In the step (A), a contact load is varied within a load range lower than a maximum load with which exfoliation of the surface film is not observed, and higher than a minimum load with which a diamond needle 113 having a spherical tip and having a tip curvature radius of 50 μm leaves a trace, to perform a test (1) of bringing the diamond needle 113 into contact with the spectacle lens L with a fixed contact load and linearly relatively moving the diamond needle at a fixed speed and then isolating the diamond needle 113 and the spectacle lens L from each other during the linear relative movement to terminate the linear relative movement many times. In the step (B), the tip bulge start load (WI) is obtained in accordance with a relation between the contact load and a height of a tip bulge formed at the front end of the trace of the diamond needle 113.
