A spectroscopic analyzer separately receives signal light S from an object to be measured and reference light R corresponding to the signal light S to form an image on one light receiving means 16. Light entered from each light entrance portion is converted into a parallel light by a collimating means 11, spectrum of the parallel light output from the collimating means 11 is observed by a prism spectroscopic means 12, the light, the spectrum of which is observed is gathered by a light-gathering means 13 and received by a light receiving means 16. A signal obtained by the light receiving means 16 is processed by a signal processing means. Use of a wavelength of a near infrared region is preferable in securing a wavelength linearity which is at stake for prism spectroscopy.
