Abstract:
PURPOSE: To inexpensively provide a small speech CODEC device capable of providing plural kinds of speech CODEC function.
CONSTITUTION: An echo canceller arithmetic part 12 and a speech CODEC arithmetic part 15 are comprised of digital signal processing units respectively, and working program data to be supplied to the digital signal processor is read out from a ROM 17 corresponding to respective speech CODEC function. Therefore, since the function of the echo canceller arithmetic part 12 and that of the speech CODEC arithmetic part 15 can be changed in software fashion, it is possible to provide plural speech CODEC functions by one set of hardware.
