Abstract:
To realize speech data expansion which reduces a quantization error more than an ordinary DPCM system with constitution simpler than an ADPCM system.
A speech alarmer 2 reads quantized values in order, converts those quantized values into difference values of a speech signal which vary slowly or difference values of a speech signal which vary rapidly according to a data conversion rule 1 or 2, and adds those difference values to synthesize a speech signal. Further, the data conversion rules in use are switched by reading a switching quantized value.
