The language translation device for translating voice data communicated between one terminal and another terminal detects a transmission destination recognition information transmitted from the one terminal to the another terminal, extracts area data of the another terminal from a detected recognition number, reads out language information corresponding to the extracted area data from stored information stored by associating the area data with language information, i.e., information related to a language used in the area identified with the area data, and selects the language of a translation subject based on the read out language information to translate the selected language as the subject of translation.
