To achieve further improvement of ride comfort of a marine vessel traveling on waves.SOLUTION: In a speed control method of a marine vessel, a vessel speed is determined based on a moving average value of a vertical speed of a hull 11 which corresponds to a tolerable vertical acceleration, a moving average value of a vertical speed of a marine vessel 10 measured by an inertial measurement unit (IMU) 18, and an occurrence probability density distribution of a wave height following a Rayleigh probability density distribution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
