Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed detection device for a vehicle in which a speed meter drive gear can be reduced in size.SOLUTION: A speed detection device for a vehicle comprises: an accommodation case for rotatably supporting one end and the other end of a differential case in a rotation axial direction via a bearing; a speed meter drive gear which is formed into an annular plate-shaped body in which a plurality of teeth are arranged at equal intervals at an external peripheral part, arranged at on end side of the differential case in the rotation axial direction, and rotates together with the differential case; and a speed sensor arranged in the accommodation case so as to oppose tooth tip faces of a plurality of the teeth, and calculating a vehicle speed on the basis of the detection number of the tooth tip faces. The teeth have inclined faces which are gradually inclined to one end side in the rotation axial direction as progressing toward a reverse direction from a forward direction of the speed meter drive gear.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
