Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of engagement adjustment between a hypoid pinion and a hypoid gear.SOLUTION: A speed reducer includes: an electric motor having a rotor having a hypoid pinion which rotates only in one direction and generates thrust force in a first direction; a speed reduction mechanism part including a hypoid gear having a hypoid gear shaft which rotates only in one direction and generates thrust force in a second direction; and a first bearing supporting the hypoid pinion at the first direction side. The speed reducer has a first adjustment plate at a position located closer to the first direction side than the first bearing. The first adjustment plate can move in the first direction and a direction opposite to the first direction. A position of the first bearing can be adjusted by movement of the first adjustment plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
