Abstract:
To improve efficiency of engagement adjustment between a hypoid pinion and a hypoid gear.SOLUTION: A speed reducer includes: an electric motor including a rotor having a hypoid pinion which rotates to generate thrust force in a first direction or a second direction; a speed reduction mechanism part including a hypoid gear having a hypoid gear shaft which rotates to generate thrust force in a third direction or a fourth direction; and a first bearing which supports the hypoid pinion at the first direction side. The speed reducer has a first adjustment plate in an area located closer to the first direction side than the first bearing. The first adjustment plate may move in the first direction and the second direction. A position of the first bearing can be adjusted by movement of the first adjustment plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
