To provide a speed reduction device reducing and transmitting the rotation to an output shaft when an input shaft rotates in one direction, and transmitting the rotation to the output shaft at the same speed when the input shaft rotates in the other direction.
An input member of a speed reduction mechanism is fitted into the input shaft 7. A first one-way clutch 11 is assembled between the fitting surfaces. A reverse input cutoff clutch 40 is assembled between an output member of the speed reduction mechanism and the output shaft 20. A second one-way clutch 22 with the engaging direction opposite to the first one-way clutch 11 is assembled between the input shaft 7 and a cylinder portion 21 of the output shaft 20. When the input shaft 7 rotates in one direction, the first one-way clutch 11 is engaged so that the rotation from the input shaft 7 to the input member of the speed reduction device is reduced and transmitted to the output member. The rotation of the output member locks the reverse input cutoff clutch 40 to rotate the output shaft 20 at the reduced speed. Meanwhile, when the input shaft 7 rotates in the other direction, the second one-way clutch 22 is engaged so that the rotation from the input shaft 7 is transmitted to the output member 20. The output shaft 20 is rotated at the same speed as the input shaft 7.
