Abstract:

To suppress the vibration and resultant noise of an intermediate shaft in a portable circular saw including a two-stage speed reduction mechanism using helical gears in order to solve a problem that, when the portable circular saw includes a speed reduction mechanism in which the output of an electric motor is reduced through two stages using the helical gears and outputted to a spindle, a thrust load is applied to the intermediate shaft by the engagement of the helical gears, thus causing the axial vibration of the intermediate shaft and the resultant noise.

The intermediate shaft 31 is so supported as to be axially moved. The torsional direction of two helical gears 34, 35 supported on the intermediate shaft 31 is aligned in the same direction, and only a forward thrust load is made to act on the intermediate shaft 31 and received by a damping member 40 disposed at the front to absorb the vibration.
