PURPOSE: To lock surely a select lever in a P range position by means of simple constitution.

CONSTITUTION: A lock member 11 to regulate the engagement release of an engage-stopping pin 4 from a cam plate 5 at the time of a select lever 1 being a P range position is provided, and drive is carried out between a locking position and an unlocking position by means of a motor provided in a drive mechanism 13. A lock release member 31 that is operated mutually to make the lock member 11 in the unlcoking position forcedly is provided. A long hole 41a is formed at a bracket 41 fixed at a screw rod 15, and a pin 42 projectingly provided at the lock member 11 is slidably put in. When the lock release member 31 is operated, forced displacement to the unlocking position is conducted as the pin 42 is moved in the long hole 41a, but the displacement is not transmitted to the screw rod 15 side. When operation force is released return to the former locking position is carried out by means of a spring 43.
