Abstract:
Purification of used oils comprises stages of de-hydration, vacuum distillation, solvent extraction and hydro-treatment. Direct vacuum distillation of the de-hydrated used oil produces a residue and at least one distillate fraction, the residue from the vacuum distillation is submitted to solvent extraction to give a clarified oil and an extraction residue, the clarified oil and oil distillate fraction(s) are stabilised by hydro-treatment. Also claimed is an installation for effecting the treatment.
