To provide a spherical moving device which can be run at a desired target speed, and at the same time, keeps restrictions reduced regarding the mechanism designing of a traveling body being incorporated in the spherical moving device, and enables an efficient use of the space in a spherical shell.
This spherical moving device 11 is constituted of the spherical shell 12 having a spherical external wall and a spherical internal wall, and the traveling body 13 which is incorporated in the spherical shell 12, and at the same time, relatively travels while coming into contact with the internal surface of the spherical shell 12. The traveling body 13 is constituted of an omnidirectional traveler consisting of a driving wheel, and a motor 14 having an encoder. In this case, the driving wheel is equipped with three omni-wheels 15a, 15b and 15c having the function of generating no driving force in a direction in parallel with the driving axle. The motor 14 having the encoder has a driving means for driving the driving wheel and a means which measures the rotating speed.
