To provide a spherical robot control method which positively carries out recognition of environmental information and object information which have been conventionally difficult to be detected by various sensors.
A main body section 20 arranged in the spherical shell formed of a spherical shell consisting of two separable semi-spheres 11a, 11b is provided with an RFID reading section 28 as a reading means for reading information (ID data etc.) of an RFID tag (radio tag) allotted to an external object, and an RFID writing section 29. The external object has the RFID tag allotted thereto, in which the object information (environmental information) is written. The spherical robot 1 has actions (behavior patterns) stored therein as a table beforehand, and the operations are developed according to ID numbers described in the RFID tag, whereby the robot is controlled to carry out the operation according to a recognized ID number.
