Title:
SPHERICAL SURFACE SEAT SHAPED BUTTERFLY VALVE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61252971
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of a contact surface by carrying out closure by gradually increasing the contact pressure applied onto a valve seat surface by shifting the position of the center of the rotary shaft of a valve from the center of the spherical surface of the valve seat. CONSTITUTION:When the center of the spherical surface 2 of a valve seat 1 is represented by A, and the center of the rotary shaft 4 of a valve 3 is represented by B, the locus of movement of a point C on the periphery of the valve 3 forms C' by providing the shift distance B' of the point B with respect to the point A, and said locus C' departs inside in comparison with the spherical surface 2 of the valve seat 1. In other words, the C point transfers on the locus C' and is directed to the final closure position. Therefore, when the valve 3 turns in the direction of arrow, the C point approaches to the spherical surface 2 from the position a little departing from the spherical surface of the valve seat 1, and mounted onto the spherical surface 2 at the closure position.
