Abstract:
To provide a sphingosine derivative that exhibits AGEs adsorbing action.SOLUTION: A sphingosine derivative is an amphipathic compound constituted of sphingosine, dicarboxylic acid pyridine and guluronic acid. A method for producing the derivative is made up of a process of fermenting Japanese kelp by sphingomonas being a marine microorganism and furthermore purifying the kelp. Sphingosine derivative to be obtained exhibits excellent AGEs adsorbing action, and is suitable for improving a cell function. The derivative shows proliferation property of a skin cell by anti-AGEs action to the skin cell. The derivative is applied as a water-soluble and oil-soluble cosmetic, a food product and a plant activator.SELECTED DRAWING: None
