A display part 10 provided in this sphygmomanometer body 1 has a blood pressure value display part 10a for displaying the highest and lowest blood pressure values and a date/time display part 10b for displaying date and time of the day. The display part 10, which displays nothing when off (a), displays all sorts of values when turned on (b), and displays date in the date/time display part 10b a few seconds afterwards (c). A few seconds thereafter, a pressure value of zero is displayed in the blood pressure value display part 10a and the time of the day is displayed in the date/time display part 10b (d).
