Abstract:
To carry the spin flow anywhere.SOLUTION: A spin current controller includes a quantum well structure 101 made of a semiconductor, a gate electrode 102 formed on the quantum well structure 101, and a light irradiating unit 103 that irradiates a central portion of a region where the gate electrode 102 is formed with polarized light. The quantum well structure 101 only needs to be made of a compound semiconductor and have a (001) main surface. The gate electrode 102 is formed, for example, in an annular shape in plan view. The light irradiating unit 103 irradiates the center of the region where the gate electrode 102 is formed with circularly polarized light for generating spin-polarized electrons to a well layer inside the region where the gate electrode 102 is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
