Title:
SPIN VALVE TYPE MAGNETO-RESISTIVE HEAD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3180778
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen noise without inducing the degradation in reproduction output by forming the head in such a manner that the direction of the magnetization of a ground surface film, the spin direction of an antiferromagnetic film and the direction of the magnetization of a stationary layer ferromagnetic film face a Y direction or the reverse direction thereof and that the direction of the magnetization of a free layer ferroelectric film and the direction of the magnetization of hard films face an X direction or the reverse direction thereof.
SOLUTION: The spin valve films have a structure of reverse layer spin valve films laminated in prescribed order. At this time, the direction 52 of the magnetization of the second ground surface film 42, the spin direction 53 of the antiferromagnetic film 43 and the direction 54 of the magnetization of the stationary layer ferromagnetic film 44 face the Y direction 59. The direction 56 of the magnetization of the free layer ferroelectric film 46, the directions 534a and 534b of the magnetization of the hard films 34a, 34b face the X direction 58 orthogonal with the Y direction 59. The prescribed production process is so executed that the second ground surface film 42, the antiferromagnetic film 43 and the stationary layer ferromagnetic film 44 are magnetically coupled by exchange bonding at the each other's boundaries.
