Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent twist of a work piece due to inertia by making torque of one motor for driving a work piece lower than the torque of the other motor, at a time of performing a work together with C axis control on holding the work piece with two work spindles.

CONSTITUTION: Rotation angle detectors 7b, 17b and servo control means (driving motor controllers) 29, 39 are provided on work spindles 5, 15 of an opposed spindle lathe 1. At a time of performing C axis controls on respective work spindles 5, 15 by respective servo control means 29, 39 to turn them under a condition of holding a work piece 12 by the work spindles 5, 15, the torque of a driving motor 16 for the work spindle 15 is made lower than the torque of a driving motor 6 for the work spindle 5. Therefore, the work piece 12 is driven in rotation by both work spindles 5, 15 and also the work spindle 15 acts to follow the front of the work spindle 5 via the work-piece 12.
