Abstract:

To provide a spindle device and an electrostatic coating device that convert the motion energy of gas into a rotational drive force with high efficiency, and are not easily deformed or damaged even if rotated at a high speed.

A spindle device includes a substantially-tubular housing 1, a substantially-tubular air supply component 3 coupled coaxially with the housing 1, a rotary shaft 2 inserted into the housing 1 and the air supply component 3 and rotatably supported by a radial bearing and an axial bearing, and a turbine impeller 8 concentrically attached to the rotary shaft 2 to integrally rotate with the rotary shaft 2. Turbine blades 9 are provided to project from a plane surface 6b of the turbine impeller 6 to a rear end side in an axial direction. A boundary 9a is formed so that a cross section of a side surface thereof taken in a plane surface along the projecting direction of the turbine blade 9 is a curve. Thereby, the boundary 9a in the turbine blade 9 is formed so that its projecting length from the plane surface 6b of the turbine impeller 6 is not even.
