Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an axial-gap-type spindle motor in a thin body with spaces sufficient for a stator and a rotor as a driving-force generating source.
CONSTITUTION: A stator coil 28 is provided in a head movement space between a rotor magnet 27 and a disk 21, and the stator coil 28 is supported by a base 29 so that the stator coil 28 faces the motor axle 26. Moreover, the stator coil 28 has a notched part partly so that a head 22 is not hindered from moving.
