In a spindle motor, a corresponding surface of a cover member, with which an operating fluid made to circulate from a radial bearing of the spindle motor comes into contact, is tapered. By forming a tapered part on the corresponding surface of the cover member with which the operating fluid forming a fluid dynamic pressure bearing circulates to come into contact, durability of the cover member is improved, and a circulation speed of the operation fluid is increased. Consequently, an effect to improve current characteristics is obtained.
