Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple spindle replacement method for the rolling machine, which cuts down time and labor and can eliminate work hazard so that everybody can replace spindles.
SOLUTION: The table 3 is placed on top of the elevator 4 on the bogie 2, the bogie 2 is drawn in with a ram latch while the table 3 is being lifted, the elevator 4 is descended and the table 3 is put on the bending block BB in the mill housing MH. By placing an upper backup roll UB on the holder 51 and sliding the holder 5 to the controller side with the sliding device and by shifting the backup roll UB as much as possible, the space above spindles becomes empty. New spindles are descended and installed by lifting up the spindle S from above.
