Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a spinner disk for making glass fiber of long service life by decreasing the friction resistance due to a molten glass flow passing through an orifice part of the spinner disk rotating at high speed.
CONSTITUTION: A spinner disk 1 is rotated at high speed to spin molten glass into glass fiber through orifices 6. An inclined angle θ between a centerline A of the orifice pierced in a cylindrical work wall 5 of the spinner disk 1 and a centerline B directed from the work wall to the center of the spinner disk is made to be an angle of ≥10° inclined in the reverse direction to that of rotation of the spinner disk in a plane perpendicular to the rotating axis from the inner circumferential surface of the work wall.
