A spinning unit 2 comprises: an air spinning device 9 which feeds a spun yarn 10; a winding device 28 which winds up the spun yarn 10 on a package 45; a splicer 43 which performs yarn splicing; a suction mouse module 46 which captures the yarn end of spun yarn 10 from the package by a suction mouse 104 and guides the captured yarn end of the spun yarn 10 to a yarn splicing position of the splicer 43; and a cam drive mechanism 53 capable of moving the suction mouse 104. The cam drive mechanism 53 moves at least a position of the suction mouse 104 to: a capturing position for capturing the yarn end of the spun yarn 10 from the package 45; a guide position for guiding the captured yarn end to the yarn splicing position of the splicer 43; and a retreating position farther apart from the capturing position than the guide position and farther apart from a yarn passage between the air spinning device 9 and the winding device 28 than the guide position.
