To provide a spiral pipe joint that is simple in joint body structure, is easily mountable on a spiral pipe, prevents rupture and dislodgment of the spiral pipe and is watertight.
The spiral pipe joint comprises a nipple 1 inserted in an end of a pipe body P to form a joint body, a crimping ring 2 for fixing the pipe body P to the nipple 1, and a flexible cordlike pressure contact member 3 fitted in a spiral groove formed in the periphery of the pipe body P. The nipple 1 is a metal cylinder, and has a flange portion 12 formed at one end, a spigot portion 11 inserted in the pipe body P and a small-diameter step portion 13 formed on the flange portion 12 side of the spigot portion 11. The crimping ring 2 is a metal cylinder provided with such an inside diameter as to fit on the periphery of the pipe body P. After the spigot portion 11 of the nipple 1 is inserted in the pipe body P, the pressure contact member 3 is wound over at least one turn on the periphery of the pipe body P over the spigot portion 11, and the crimping ring 2 is placed over them before compressed centrically to radially constrict them with a degree of crimping on the small-diameter step portion 13 beyond the step between the spigot portion 11 and the small-diameter step portion 13, so that the nipple 1 and the pipe body P are securely connected.
