Abstract:

To prevent the contact of ends of gas side flow passage materials with hydrophobic porous membranes and the consequent flowing of the hydrophobic porous membranes by thermaly fusing and liquid tightly sealing the gas side flow passage materials between the hydrophobic porous membranes as joining materials and fixing the positions of the gas side flow passage materials to the hydrophobic prous membranes.

A spiral type gas-liquid contact membrane element 2 to be inserted into a housing of a cylindrical shape is constituted by inserting two sheets of the gas side flow passage materials 35 between two sheetes of the hydrophobic porous membranes 34 at both ends of the hydrophobic porous membranes 34 and thermaly fusing and liquid tightly sealing the portions of the side parts SP as the joining materials with the gas side flow passage materials 35 as the joining materials. A tetrafluoroethylene resin is preferably as the material of the hydrophobic porous membranes 34 and a perfluoroalkoxy resin or perfluoroethylene propylene resin is preferable as the material of the gas side flow passage materials 35. According thereto, the flow passage materials 35 are supple and, therefore, the flawing of the hydrophobic porous membranes 34 in flawing the hydrophobic porous membranes 34 at the time of production may be prevented.
