The present invention provides a spiro ring-containing norbornene derivative represented by formula (I) [wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each independently a halogen atom, a polar group or a 1-30C hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent, wherein the 1-30C hydrocarbon group may have a linking group containing a halogen atom, an oxygen atom, a nitrogen atom, a sulfur atom or a silicon atom; p, q, r and s are each independently an integer of 0-3; a, b and c are each independently an integer of 0-2 with the proviso that both of b and c are not 0; A is a single bond, -O-, -S-, -SO-, -SO2-, -C(=O)-, -NR5- or a 1-30 divalent hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent (wherein R5 is a hydrogen atom or a 1-30C hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent, and the 1-30C hydrocarbon group may have a linking group containing a halogen atom, an oxygen atom, a nitrogen atom, a sulfur atom or a silicon atom)] and its utilization.
