Abstract:

PURPOSE:To surely obstruct the entering of dust as well as to enable a light expansion of a spline shaft by a method wherein in a spline coupling device which couples a shaft in free expansion, the inside of a spline sleeve is retained in a state always communicating with the atmospheric pressure. CONSTITUTION:A space 3 of a shaft line direction is installed at a spline teeth bottom where a spline shaft 1 and a spline sleeve 2 are engaged each other, and a plug 4 is inserted within the sleeve 2 at the point of the shaft. And a grease supplying port 5 is installed in the vicinity of the plug 4 of the sleeve 2 and together with this, at the opening end face, a ventilation groove 6 is installed in a concave shape in the radial direction and an atmospheric pressure is induced to the abovementioned space 3. To this sleeve 2 end face, a seal material 7 having a hole same as the external shape of the shaft 1 is contacted, and it is fixed with mounting of a drum shaped seal retainer 8. When this retainer 8 is mounted, a gap 9 is formed between the retainer 8 and the sleeve 2, further, at several places of the circumference, concave parts 10 contacting the sleeve outer peripheral face are provided.
