To provide a connecting joint for establishing quick and highly reliable connection between a vacuum pump and an exhaust chamber while eliminating disadvantages in a known art, and to provide the vacuum pump equipped therewith.
This split joint 31 for the vacuum pump is suitably constituted to establish mechanical connection between a suction port 25 of the vacuum pump 35 and an exhaust port 65 of a structure 39 to which the pump is connected, and to establish vacuum sealing. The split joint includes male joints 33:37 having a plurality of male engaging elements 41:43 connectable to the outer case of the vacuum pump or the structure to which the pump is connected. Male engaging elements are provided for the mechanical connection to the corresponding female engaging elements 41:43 of corresponding female joints. The mechanical connection is established by relative rotating motion between the male joints 33:37 and the female joints 37:33.
