PURPOSE: To reduce the weight of a fixing member which fixes a cylinder side member and a claw side member in a split type disc brake device.

CONSTITUTION: Brake pads 12, 13 are mounted, facing the side surface of a disc rotor 11, a cylinder bore 35 where a piston 35a which can slide in the axial direction at the side position of the brake pad 13 is accommodated is formed in a caliper 22 to press the brake pad 12 against the disc rotor 11 through the sliding motion of the piston 35a and the caliper 22 itself. The caliper 22 is constituted so as to fix the a claw side member 44 and a cylinder side member 55. A locking part which receives the force for setting the cylinder side member 55 from the claw side member 44 in the vertical direction to the surface of the disc rotor 11 is mounted onto at least either of the two members to relieve concentrated force which works on a bolt 36. It is thus possible to reduce or eliminate strength necessary for the bolt 36, reducing the weight of the caliper 22.
