Title:
SPLITTABLE ACRYLIC FIBER, AND ACRYLIC FIBER SHEET AND NONWOVEN FABRIC USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11256423
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain the subject splittable acrylic fiber that can be recycled and can give sheets with an increased sheet strength and nonwoven fabric with a good fabric hand like natural leather.

This acrylic fiber comprises (A) 30-90 wt.% of an acrylonitrile polymer and (B) 10-70 wt.% of one or more kinds of additive polymer such as a methacrylic resin or the like in which the fiber diameter is η8 μm. The resultant fibers are beaten, and the splittable fibers having a ratio of the beaten fraction is ≥80 wt.% and an aspect ratio of 5,000-150,000 are used in an amount of ≥15% to produce an acrylic fiber sheet with a unit weight of 20 g/m2 and the tensile strength of ≥0.5 kg/cm or the split-treated splittable fibers are used in an amount of ≥20 wt.% to prepare nonwoven fabric sheets.
