Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-sustained combustion type rotary kiln for generating hot air capable of continuing self-sustained combustion in stable manner irrespective of characteristic of woody fuel.SOLUTION: A kiln main body 4 having a refractory 3 arranged at an inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical steel plate 2 is rotatably supported in its inclined state, an upstream side end part of the kiln main body 4 is provided with an auxiliary burner 7, a supply conveyor 6 and a surrounding air supply fan 8 and in turn a downstream end part is provided with a hot air lead-out duct 10. In addition, an inner peripheral diameter of the refractory 3 at the upstream side in the furnace of the kiln main body 4 is enlarged more than that of its downstream diameter to form a step 12, char including solid R of high temperature generated as pyrolysis of woody fuel occurs is stopped in dam and stayed by the step 12 to be applied as self-sustained combustion kindling.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
