Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a spontaneous orientation auxiliary agent for a liquid crystal composition, the agent can ensure the preservability when the agent is added to a liquidcrystal composition, and can vertically align liquid crystal molecules without providing a PI layer. Another object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal composition containing thespontaneously-controllable additive that has excellent preservability and enables vertical alignment of liquid crystal molecules without providing a PI layer, and a liquid crystal display device usingthe liquid crystal composition. The method for solving the problems is to provide the spontaneous orientation auxiliary agent for a liquid crystal composition having a partial structure represented by the general formula (i), and to provide a liquid crystal composition containing the spontaneous alignment additive and a liquid crystal display device using the liquid crystal composition.
