Abstract:
PURPOSE: To smooth the copying motion of a back bar abutting on the reverse side of a welding zone, to contrive water proofing and rust proofing for the swivel part of the back bar and to save manpower for the equipment, in which resistance welding is performed on the welding zone of a hemming process by means of indirect energizing.
CONSTITUTION: The equipment is provided with the back bar 6 abutting on the outside surface of a work circumference, gun arm 2 for supporting a welding electrode tip 3 corresponding to the back bar, and driving source 5 which operates the gun arm and which impart a necessary welding pressure force or a release motion to the part between the electrode tip 3 and the back bar 6. The back bar insulates the gun arm by means of an insulating plate 14 and also supports 10 it against an electrode pressing motion with a capability for equalizing; the back bar 6 is supported turnably with the spherical head part of a supporting shaft so as to copy the surface shape of an object to be welded, and also that copying motion is controlled within a prescribed follow-up range.
