A rotator 17 on which the cylinder block 1 of a V-type engine is securely disposed has a projecting rounded surface 17b. When the rotator rotates, the projecting rounded surface 17b moves along a recessed rounded surface 19a of a rotator-holding base 19. As a result of the rotation, the openings of either the cylinder bores 3a of the first bank 7 or the cylinder bores 3b of the second bank 9 face upward in the vertical direction. Accordingly, with a single spray gun 5, sprayed coatings can be formed on the inner surfaces of the cylinder bores 3a, 3b.
