To prevent mist of dampening water in a housing of a spray dampener apparatus from leaking out of the housing, and to prevent foreign substances such as ink mist from invading inward from the outside of the housing.
The housing 6 equipped with an opening toward dampening water roller accommodates a spray nozzle 5 which is provided in parallel in the longitudinal direction of the dampening water roller 1 and sprays the dampening water to the dampening water roller 1, has an upstream side partitioning wall 18 and a downstream side partitioning wall 19, equipped with openings 24 facing the surface of the dampening water roller, on an upstream end and a downstream end of the opening of the housing, each partitioning wall has drain holes 22 and 23 passing through the housing, respectively. As the partitioning walls catch effectively the mist and liquidize it thereby, passing through of the mist inside and outside of the housing can be effectively suppressed.
