To reduce the abrasion of a coil spring and to stably exercise the performance of the coil spring in a spring assembly.
This spring assembly 5 comprises a first coil spring 51, a second coil spring 52 and a pair of spring seats 53. The second coil spring 52 has a free length shorter than that of the first coil spring 51, and is movably mounted on an inner peripheral part of the first coil spring 51 in a state that at least two members of a torsional vibration damper are not relatively rotated. The pair of spring seats 53 are respectively mounted at both ends of the first coil spring 51 in opposition to each other, and respectively has a supporting part 53a capable of supporting both ends of the first coil spring 51, a fist engagement part 53b mounted on the supporting part 53a and capable of being engaged with the inner peripheral part of the first coil spring 51 and kept into contact with both ends of the second coil spring 52, and a second engagement part 53c mounted on the first engagement part 53b and capable of at least partially engaged with an inner peripheral part of the second coil spring 52.
