To provide a spring coiling device to simplify the switching of the spring coiling direction.
A spring coiling device to manufacture a right-or left-handed coil spring from a wire comprises a drawing roller 12, a wire guide 16 and two coiling devices 30, 32. The coiling devices comprise slide guide bodies 36, 38 having movable slides 40, 42. The slide guide bodies are pivotably movable around a pivot perpendicular to the axis of the wire guide. The coiling devices comprise drive devices 68, 70 which are on different sides of a center plane, and move the slides, and cam drive devices 90, 98, 106, 92, 100, 108 which are controlled by a cam disk 88 to pivotably move the slide guide bodies. The cam disk comprises two control parts and a stationary part. The control parts brings the controlled movement to one of the cam drive devices, and moves one slide in cooperation with a drive unit by the program control. In this condition, the other drive unit is not operated.
