To provide a spring filter element ensuring fine gaps of approximately several μms at an inexpensive processing cost, having higher treatment ability than the conventional articles and outstandingly improving the discharging property of residue having high viscosity and low liquid content.
In the spring filter element, a coil 3 helically wound with a coil strand having a circular cross section is adhered to an outer periphery of a hollow pipe 1. An outer diameter of the hollow pipe 1 is set larger than a diameter of the coil and a screw groove 2 is formed on the outer periphery of the hollow pipe 1. The screw groove 2 has a cross section shape that the groove width is enlarged from a bottom of the groove to the outer peripheral side and a communication hole 7 communicated with an inner periphery of the hollow pipe 1 is formed on the bottom of the screw groove 2. The coil 3 is installed on the hollow pipe 1 along the screw groove 2 and a gap retaining part 11 is integrally formed on any one of the coil 3 or the screw groove 2. A gap 9 for passing a fluid is formed between the coil 3 and the screw groove 2.
