Abstract:
To provide a foil gas bearing of such a shape that it is easy to process with high precision such as plate bending, cylinder cutting, boring, etc., and possible to manufacture at low costs.
In the gas bearing, a foil formed of at least one arcuate sheet having a ring at least at one end is inserted into a hole whose inside diameter side installed in a cylindrical cartridge is open. High damping effect can be obtained by the friction between bending of the sheet and a plurality of sheets, and between the hole and the ring.
