To positively transmit torque for adjusting a spring load from a spring support to a cam tube, and to secure the rigidity of the spring support in a spring load adjuster for a hydraulic shock absorber.

In the spring load adjuster 60 for the hydraulic shock absorber 10, the spring support 70 fit to an outer circumference of a cylinder 11 so as to be turnable is placed on the end face of the cam tube 60, a plurality of protrusions 71 formed on the spring support 70 are engaged with a plurality of recessed grooves 62 shaped like rectangular holes cut out at the end face of the cam tube 60, and the cam tube 60 can be turned by torque applied to a turning operation part 80 provided in the spring support 70. The spring support 70 has an inner circumference protrusion 71 formed by perpendicularly bending rectangular tongue piece-like cutout pieces 71A formed in a plurality of positions of the inner circumference of a disc 70A, and the inner circumference protrusions 71 are used as the protrusions 71.
