PURPOSE: To reduce operating force by providing a spring which energizes a cassette to a recording and playback position and another apring which extracts the cassette by energizing it to an insertion and extraction position.

CONSTITUTION: An operating shaft 13 is provided to a cassette support member 10 moving together with a cassette 1, and an operating lever 14 is provided rotatably near it; and the operation point 0 of this lever is positioned near the intermediate position of the movement stroke of the operating shaft 13. Between the operation point 0 and operating shaft 13, a coil spring 15 is coupled and a lock lever 16 is added rotatably to the operating lever 14. Furter, the operating lever 14 is disabled to rotate by the lock lever 16. For the extraction of the cassette, the lock lever 16 is released to make the operating lever 14 rotatable and the cassette support member 10 is energized by an extraction spring 24 toward the insertion and extraction position of the cassette 1.
