PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring improved in its fatigue strength.SOLUTION: A spring includes a spirally coiled spring wire material 10. The surface of the spring wire material 10 has a plurality of micro pockets 16 extending in a longitudinal direction of the spring wire material and having a width of 10 μm or less in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction. Each of the micro pockets 16 has a depth d of 2.0 μm or less.
