Abstract:
To provide: a novel squarylium derivative that does not change the energy levels but increases the carrier mobility in a thin film state, and also improves the fill factor (FF) and increases the energy conversion efficiency; and a donor material comprising the novel squarylium derivative, and an organic thin film solar cell using the same.SOLUTION: The squarylium derivative is represented by the general formula (1) in the figure. (In the general formula (1), Rto Rare each independently an aliphatic substituent or aromatic substituent, where the R-Rpair and the R-Rpair may each be linked to form a ring; and Ris a hydrogen atom, cyano group, trifluoromethyl group or nitro group.)SELECTED DRAWING: None
