Abstract:
To provide a squarylium-based compound with which shieldability in the near-infrared region and transmissivity in the visible ray region are made compatible with each other and with which a near-infrared cut filter with little haze can be formed.SOLUTION: A squarylium-based compound has a chemical structure represented by general formula (1). (In formula (1), R1, R2, R5 and R6 represent mutually independently an aliphatic hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent or an aromatic ring group which may have a substituent. R1, R2, R5 and R6 may mutually independently form a condensed ring by being bonded to a carbon atom on a benzene ring in formula. R3 and R4 represent mutually independently an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 4 or more carbon atoms which may have a substituent.
