PURPOSE: To prepare a chlorine-containing resin having excellent thermal stability, by compounding a chlorine-containing resin with a specific silicon compound, a mono-organic tin compound, and a carboxylic acid metal salt.
CONSTITUTION: A resin composition composed of (A) 100 parts by weight of a chlorine-containing resin, (B) 0.1W5 parts of a silicon compound having a group of formula I, e.g. tetrakis(methoxycarbonylthio)silicon, dimethyl.bis(isooctyloxycarbonylthio)silicon, etc., (C) 0.01W5 parts of a mono-organic tin compound of formula II (R5 is alkyl, aryl, alkoxycarbonylalkyl, etc.; Z is alkoxy, aryloxy, alkylthio, etc.), and (D) 0.1W5 parts of group I and/or II metal salt of a carboxylic acid, e.g. magnesium acetate, sodium stearate, etc.
